Yoga Therapy
What is Yoga Therapy?
Yoga therapy is about understanding yourself, understanding your needs, and understanding what’s out of balance and how to bring it back into balance.
Yoga therapy applies yoga techniques, philosophy, and practices to create an individualized program to empower and improve the health and wellness of the whole person—physically, psychologically, emotionally, and spiritually.
What to Expect
I offer 1-1 sessions via Zoom using specialized, customized, therapeutic practices that can assist with everything from easing symptoms of depression and anxiety to recovering from and managing disease.
Yoga therapy interventions are a co-creation between the therapist and the patient, so the patient has ownership of the plan. It is educational in nature so you will learn more about yourself and your body to help you understand and improve your condition.
Yoga Therapy allows the individual to become more aware of their body psychologically, physically, spiritually, and emotionally using mindfulness, chanting, movement, and other yoga techniques, and practices to empower the individual's health and wellness. Yoga Therapy respects all aspects of the individual (religion, gender, etc.)
Is it Like a Yoga Class?
Although Yoga Therapy does often include asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), it offers a more deeper approach than your typical fitness-focused yoga studio offering.
What Do I Need to Participate?
Wear comfortable clothes you’re able to move and rest in easily, While not completely necessary, I recommend a yoga mat, yoga blocks, a bolster and/or pillow, and a blanket.
